lastra / cutting board
€29A sheet with its front edge folded down. That fold hooks over the counter edge: the board stays put while you work, with no cloth underneath. Steel stays cool, which suits pastry, butter and chocolate; it holds no smell, takes no stain and goes in the dishwasher. Heavy chopping tires a knife edge — this is made for fine cutting, prep and serving.

About the object
lastra has its front edge folded down, and that fold hooks over the edge of the counter. The board stays put while you work, with no damp cloth underneath.
With a 340 × 240 mm working surface and 1.5 mm steel, it is the thickest piece in the collection. Steel stays cool, which suits rolling pastry and working with butter and chocolate; it holds no smell, takes no stain and goes in the dishwasher.
A note: steel tires a knife edge faster than wood. lastra is made for fine cutting, prep and serving rather than heavy chopping. It weighs 1.05 kg and has a brushed finish.
Designed in Milan, laser-cut and folded in Istanbul, with edges finished by hand. Batch and sequence number underneath; signed certificate in the box.
