About the object
lume is made by folding a single sheet of stainless steel twice: the lower fold forms the base, the upper one the tilted face. The candle passes through the hole in the tilted face and rests on the plate below, so it stands upright while the light of the flame bounces off the steel and back into the room. There are no welds, screws or separate parts.
It is sized for slim Ø 22 mm candles. At 100 × 90 × 110 mm it works alone on a dining table, or in pairs and threes on a sideboard or windowsill. Made from 0.7 mm AISI 304 steel, it weighs 160 g.
Available in brushed, mirror, Nero and Gold finishes. Mirror reflects the flame most brightly; brushed spreads the light more softly. If wax drips, ten minutes in the freezer is enough — the hardened wax lifts off by hand.
Every lume is drawn in Milan, laser-cut and folded in one pass in our Istanbul workshop, and finished by hand. The batch and sequence number are laser-marked underneath, and it arrives with a signed certificate.
Questions
Which candles does it fit?
It is sized for slim Ø 22 mm candles. Thicker candles will not pass through the hole.
How do I remove dripped wax?
Leave the piece in the freezer for ten minutes; the hardened wax lifts off by hand. Wipe any trace away with soapy water.
Which finish should I choose?
Mirror reflects the flame most brightly, brushed gives a calmer light. Nero and Gold suit darker or warmer interiors.
